Professor Liye Zou has recently been invited to serve as the Associate Editor of Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being (AP:HWB), the flagship journal of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). AP:HWB is ranked in the SSCI Q1 category by JCR. The journal. The journal focuses on disseminating scientific discoveries and practical applications in the fields of health and well-being, and encouraging the publication of articles from various domains of applied psychology, including clinical, health, counseling, educational, sports, cross-cultural, and environmental psychology. Its mission is to provide high-quality articles that present the latest research and best practices on the application of psychology to promote well-being and optimal functioning.
Professor Liye, Zou earned his doctoral degree from Springfield College, USA, in 2017 and later conducted postdoctoral research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2019, he was recognized as a Class C talent under the Shenzhen Peacock Plan. He currently leads the “Body-Brain-Mind Laboratory”research group in the School of Psychology, and has significant expertise and achievements in the fields of sports, brain, and cardiovascular health. He has published over 100 SCI/SSCI-indexed papers in prestigious journals such as Trends in Cognitive Sciences, Trends in Molecular Medicine, Advanced Science, and British Journal of Sports Medicine. His research has garnered significant attention, with some findings featured on the front page of China Education Daily, reposted on the Ministry of Education’s website, and cited multiple times in policy reports by the World Health Organization (WHO).
He has been rancked among the“World’s Top 2% Scientists” rankings from 2022 to 2024 and is a leading advocate for the global standardization of terminology related to active behavior (alongside Kirk I. Erickson, Teresa Liu-Ambrose, Liye Zou, and Ryan S. Flack). Additionally, he is a founding member of the International Society for Exercise Neuroscience and serves as an editorial board member or associate editor for several renowned international journals, including the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology (SSCI), Mental Health and Physical Activity (SSCI), and the International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology (SSCI).
