In January 2021, the School of Psychology at Shenzhen University officially signed an agreement with Springfield College in the United States to lunch the "2+2" undergraduate dual degree program. The program is now open for enrollment to all second-year students at Shenzhen University.
Springfield College:
Founded in 1885, Springfield College is globally renowned for training specialized talent in sports and is one of the top ten sports colleges in the world. It is also known as the birthplace of basketball and volleyball. One of the pioneers of basketball in China, Mr. Mou Zuoyun, is an alumnus of Springfield College (the CBA league's national championship trophy is named the "Mou Zuoyun Cup").
With extensive experience in cultivating practical talents in sports and physical health, Springfield College has recently focused on training professionals in the field of psychological counseling. It offers specialized programs such as sports psychology counseling and health psychology counseling. In 2017, the college received accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA) for its Doctor of Psychology in Counseling (Psy.D.) program, one of only nine such programs in the United States (for more details, visit http://apa.org/ed/accreditation/programs).
The college's approach to training psychology students emphasizes the practical application of psychological knowledge in areas such as sports, education, work, and rehabilitation.

Admission Criteria |
Among students who meet the eligibility requirements, the admission ratio will first be determined based on the number of students who submit TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo scores. Then, admission will be based on a combined ranking of English scores and GPA within the TOEFL/IELTS group, with applicants admitted in order of rank. |

Course and Credit Transfer:
The general education courses (i.e., public required courses, totaling 40 credits) completed by Shenzhen University students in the first two years can be fully transferred as general education credits to Springfield College. In addition, 33 credits from the core courses (i.e., required professional courses) in the major can be transferred as professional course credits to Springfield. After admission, students will need to complete 48 credits of psychology major courses at Springfield College during their two years of study. In total, students are required to complete 121 credits. Upon completing the credits and obtaining the Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Springfield College, students will return to Shenzhen University for degree verification and subsequently receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Shenzhen University.
