On September 17, 2026, the Psychology School convened its 2026 fall semester student work conference. School leaders, department heads, all counselors, homeroom teachers, and academic secretaries attended the meeting. Dean Chen Qi and Party Secretary Zhang Lunan were present and delivered speeches.
The meeting reviewed the evaluation results of homeroom teachers across classes and presented honor certificates for "Outstanding Homeroom Teacher" to four faculty members: Zhu Chen, Luo Canhuang, Liu Jie, and Le Qiuhai. Ms. Liu Jie, as representative of outstanding homeroom teachers, shared her experience on "Providing Long-Term Support in Small Classes," offering insights into her approach to homeroom teaching through three aspects: academic learning, information channels, and class relationships.
The meeting outlined key priorities for student work this semester: First, safeguarding safety and stability by strengthening bottom-line thinking and risk awareness, conducting thorough assessments of students’ academic conditions, providing follow-up support, and fulfilling the collective responsibility of holistic education. Second, intensifying graduate employment efforts by seizing the golden recruitment period in September and October, enhancing guidance for postgraduate studies and military enlistment promotion, and organizing over ten campus job fairs from September to November across both Yuehai and Lihu campuses. Third, actively promoting military recruitment and disseminating benefits and incentives for enlistment.
In his speech, Dean Chen Qi emphasized that homeroom teachers are crucial guides in students' development, and the effectiveness of their work directly impacts students’ sense of fulfillment and security. He stressed that ensuring safety and stability must remain the top priority in student affairs, with a firm commitment to bottom-line thinking and risk awareness. He called for detailed classification of students’ academic situations and targeted follow-up support. At the same time, he urged taking full advantage of the autumn recruitment window to coordinate progress on the three key areas—employment, postgraduate study, and military enlistment—helping students align personal growth with national needs so that every student can find a suitable path forward.
In his concluding remarks, Party Secretary Zhang Lunan highlighted that the essence of student work lies in "whole-staff education and accountability." He called on all faculty and staff to unite and collaborate, with school leaders, mentors, counselors, homeroom teachers, and academic secretaries each fulfilling their roles and working together to ensure student safety. He advocated for long-term, concrete, and sincere mentorship, transforming classrooms into warm communities where students feel comfortable speaking up about problems, asking questions about choices, and sharing pressures without having to bear them alone. Finally, the secretary encouraged all homeroom teachers and counselors to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly and persistently, striving to elevate the school’s student work to new heights.
