On March 13, 2026, the School of Psychology at Shenzhen University convened its all-faculty meeting in Room L3-1201 of Zhili Building. Centered on the School’s work plan and key tasks for the new semester, the meeting sought to further build consensus, clarify objectives, and refine the division of responsibilities, thereby laying a solid foundation for the efficient, orderly, and effective advancement of all work in the spring semester. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Lunan, Party Secretary of the School.



Members of the School leadership team then delivered reports and outlined plans for the areas under their respective responsibilities. Deputy Secretary Gao Liang provided a detailed overview of the School’s student affairs, disciplinary inspection work, and trade union activities. He noted that, during this semester, the School will encourage graduating students to participate more actively in job fairs, further promote employer outreach initiatives, and strengthen publicity efforts related to military enlistment. With regard to disciplinary inspection, he emphasized the need to rigorously advance the School’s integrity culture initiatives, carry out regular special inspections focused on key risk areas, and reinforce prevention and control at the source. In addition, the School will continue to innovate the content and format of trade union activities while sustaining its programs of care and outreach.



Vice Dean Guo Tianyou provided a comprehensive review of the School’s undergraduate teaching and pedagogical research in 2025. He noted that, over the past year, the School had achieved notable progress in areas such as the approval of teaching and research projects, the enhancement of talent cultivation quality, the development of grassroots teaching organizations, faculty professional development, and student participation in academic competitions. He also outlined arrangements for several key tasks for the current semester, including applications for newly offered courses, progress management for undergraduate theses, the development of the talent cultivation system for the dual bachelor’s degree program, and the advancement of international cooperative education initiatives.



Vice Dean Li Peng summarized and outlined key work concerning laboratory development, postgraduate admissions, degree management, and talent cultivation. He briefed the faculty on the School’s current overall postgraduate admissions situation and emphasized the importance of student source quality to the development of the discipline and degree programs. He also clarified the arrangements and overall objectives for the 2026 admissions cycle, stressing the need to further increase the proportion of students admitted through recommendation-based pathways and to continue expanding the share of high-quality student sources. In addition, he encouraged faculty members to actively apply for projects related to the development of outstanding postgraduate teaching materials and high-quality postgraduate courses. He also called for stronger development of the team of industry mentors for the Master of Applied Psychology program, and reminded supervisors to adhere closely to the relevant timeline and ensure that students complete all required tasks for this semester on schedule, including degree applications, thesis review, and thesis defense.



Party Secretary Zhang Lunan provided a comprehensive summary of the achievements of the School’s Party Committee in the previous semester and systematically outlined its key tasks for the new semester. She reviewed in depth the solid progress made in the School’s Party-building work across multiple dimensions, including theoretical strengthening, the development of Party-building brands, Party member recruitment, education and management, professional ethics and conduct among faculty, and the implementation of the responsibility system for ideological work.

During the meeting, Secretary Zhang also conveyed the guiding principles and requirements set forth by the University Party Committee for the new semester. Closely aligned with the School’s actual conditions, she made specific arrangements for the Party Committee’s key work in the current semester. Moving forward, the School Party Committee will remain committed to high-quality Party building as its guiding principle, continue to take targeted and effective measures, and ensure that the Party’s leadership is fully integrated into every aspect of school governance and administration.



Dean Chen Qi noted that in 2025 the School of Psychology had largely achieved its established goals. The School’s domestic and international academic influence continued to grow steadily, while both the scale and quality of the faculty reached new levels. In scientific research and innovation, the School delivered landmark achievements, with a substantial increase in high-quality publications. At the same time, academic program offerings were further optimized, talent cultivation models were innovated, and student source quality improved markedly. In addition, international cooperation continued to expand, social service initiatives progressed steadily, and the School successfully established high-quality international partnerships and a multi-tiered psychological service system.

He further emphasized that in 2026 the School should focus on the formulation of its 15th Five-Year Plan and make targeted efforts in this regard. It should also further standardize personnel-related work and continue to stimulate the vitality of the faculty team. In addition, the School should concentrate its efforts on advancing key tasks such as the development of the undergraduate dual-degree program and jointly trained master’s programs, so as to promote the steady development of all its undertakings.
