June 4th – The Collaboration Exchange Forum between the School of PsychologyShenzhen University and the Department of Psychology Lingnan University was successfully held in Meeting Room L3-1336, Zhili Building. Professor Siu Oi-ling, Head of the Department of Psychology Lingnan University, led the visiting delegation. The meeting was attended by Professor Chen Qi, Dean of the School of Psychology Shenzhen University, Vice Deans Guo Tianyou and Li Peng, along with faculty members and researchers. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on psychology research, teaching, and future collaborative directions. Dean Assistant Zhao Shuo chaired the meeting.

Meeting content

Dean Chen Qi outlined the recent developments of the School of Psychology Shenzhen University. He emphasized the university's commitment to bolstering research infrastructure, highlighting ongoing investments to establish advanced research platforms aimed at enhancing research capabilities and innovation. Dean Chen stressed that psychological research should be grounded in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, balancing fundamental and applied research to serve populations across the lifespan. He detailed the School's efforts to enhance public mental health through collaborations with enterprises, educational programs, and community services. Furthermore, the School actively promotes international academic exchange, exemplified by inviting foreign academicians to participate in its activities, demonstrating a forward-looking approach to discipline development.

Professor Siu Oi-ling presented the distinctive features and research strengths of the Department of Psychology Lingnan University. Anchored in liberal arts education, the Department excels notably in the field of health and well-being research, achieving a global ranking of 30th in Psychology on Research.com. In terms of industry-academia-research collaboration, the Department has successfully initiated multiple projects, extending the application scope of psychological research and providing scientific foundations for solving practical problems. Regarding international partnerships, Lingnan University has established long-term, stable collaborative relationships with several renowned international institutions, creating diverse international exchange platforms and cross-cultural learning opportunities for students.

Subsequently, representatives from both institutions engaged in thorough discussions focusing on undergraduate education, postgraduate training, and research collaboration. The forum unequivocally affirmed the significant importance of the partnership and reached multiple consensuses on future collaborative directions.
