On March 21, 2025, a delegation from the School of Government, including Dean Chen Wen, Vice Dean Gu Zhijun, Professor Yuan Fangcheng, Associate Professor Duan Zhezhe, and Assistant Professor Guo Jing, visited the School of Psychology for research and exchange. Our school’s Dean Chen Qi, Vice Dean Guo Tianyou, Vice Dean Li Peng, Professor Wu Jianhui, Associate Professor Zhang Jieting, and Assistant Professor Zhang Jianfeng warmly received the guests. The symposium was held in Room L3-1336 of the Zhili Building at the Canghai Campus, where both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on disciplinary development and collaborative cooperation.

Dean Chen Qi welcomed Dean Chen Wen and his delegation and introduced the faculty members from our school who are involved in the big database research.

Dean Chen Wen provided an overview of the humanities and social sciences database construction plan, which is led by the university’s Department of Social Sciences and executed by the School of Government. This platform consists of five major sections: the technical infrastructure database, survey data, case repository, policy simulation, and teaching applications. It aims to enhance research innovation, policy advisory services, and teaching reform through interdisciplinary data sharing. He sincerely invited the School of Psychology to participate in the platform’s development.

Dean Chen Qi noted that data in the field of psychology is primarily collected through experiments and suggested using specific collaborative projects as entry points to promote interdisciplinary research, such as integrating psychological health with urban governance. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of project-based collaboration to explore cross-school cooperation between psychology, sociology, and other disciplines, thereby ensuring the sustainable development of the humanities and social sciences database.

Assistant Professor Zhang Jianfeng provided a detailed introduction to the technical infrastructure of the School of Psychology, highlighting key resources such as a 1500TB storage capacity and the human brain connectome database, which offer strong support for the development of the data platform.

Vice Dean Gu Zhijun further explained that the platform has already established an urban governance indicator system. In the future, it will integrate experimental data, survey research, and policy simulation functions while also implementing a data-sharing incentive mechanism.

Regarding policy simulation collaboration, Professor Wu Jianhui and Associate Professor Zhang Jieting proposed research directions such as psychological intervention in emergency events and recidivism prediction in the judicial system.

During the discussion, both parties engaged in an in-depth exchange on topics such as integrating psychological health data, applying ABM (Agent-Based Modeling) simulation models, and jointly developing a social governance case repository. They unanimously agreed that the data platform will play a crucial role in enhancing research output and policy advisory services. In conclusion, Dean Chen Wen suggested establishing a regular communication mechanism to prioritize the interconnection between psychological assessment data and the urban governance database.

After the meeting, the delegation from the School of Government visited the relevant laboratories of the School of Psychology, gaining a deeper understanding of its research resources and infrastructure for platform development.
